  A gut-wrenching family drama.

• Blind Descent: The Quest to Discover the Deepest Place on Earth by James M. Tabor
  I’ve never been hooked so hard by a non-fiction book.

• Hell Yeah or No by Derek Sivers
  Modern advice and wisdom.

• Mediation for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman
  Forced me to rethink parts of my life.

• Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank
  My dad was an English teacher, and this was a favorite of his – and now mine.

• Midnight on Beacon Street by Emily Ruth Verona
  Horror joy ride.

• The Chain by Adrian McKinty
  Hold on to your butt horror.

• The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman
  A great book for software developers that isn’t about software.
